Irven D. Kempton, 70, of Clarksburg, died at 9:07pm Monday, January 23, 2006, in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born September 23, 1935, in Ross Co., to the late Herbert Theodore and Mamie (Dyer) Kempton. Surviving are his sons and daughter-in-law Irvin Kempton, Louis Kempton; Bruce (Kathy) Kempton, of Piketon; Ted Kempton, Clarksburg; step-son Scott (Bobbie) Hurtt, Frankfort; step-daughter Michelle Hurtt (Mike Powell), Hilliard; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; 2 sisters; his former wife Edna Stevenson, of Clarksburg; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, and a sister. Mr. Kempton was a retired transit bus driver for Greyhound and a Chillicothe City Transit Driver. He was also a proud veteran who served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. A memorial service will be held 10:00am Friday, January 27, in the Clarksburg United Methodist Church, 17264 High St., Clarksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a Veterans Charity of the donor's choice.
