Irene "Birdie" Price, went home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2022 after a brief illness.
She was born September 27, 1940, one half of a set of twin girls born to Lunda and Ida Montgomery. On May 6, 1960, she married Albert Price, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (Robert) Lurty, and Susan Claytor; a son, Brian (Heidi) Price; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Christine Chaney; sister, Lucille Carroll; as well as numerous extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Price, a son, Albert Price, Jr., 6 sisters, and 4 brothers.
Irene was a graduate of Chillicothe High School. She went on to work at U.S. Shoe before they closed, and later worked at Greenfield Research until her retirement. She loved all of her family with a deep passion, loved spending time with them, and taking the good-hearted ribbing about needing a bell tone. She was an avid football fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State Buckeyes. The only thing she may have loved more were her game shows, the Price Is Right, and Jeopardy.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Mitch Salyers officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation from 10:00am until the time of the service.
