Iona Fowler

Funeral Services: Friday, February 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Granberry Mortuary Chapel Iona B. Fowler entered into eternal rest on February 9, 2015 at home at home at about 9:40 a.m.  She was born on August 12, 1925 in Cedar Creek, North Carolina to the union of Gad and Luella Hair. She was educated in the North Carolina public school system. She married Mr. Ernest McCoy in 1942.  To this union one child was born, Ernestine McCoy.  McCoy left them and Iona obtained a divorce on grounds of desertion about 1951. She gave her life to the Lord about 1951 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia pastored by Pastor Latham. She met and married A. R. Fowler on December 2, 1953.  To this union one child as born: Althea A. Fowler.  Sis Fowler was given Mrs. Brenda (nee Green) Harding to carry on as mother after her mother expired. She loved her church members.  She was a master home maker and helper to anyone she could help.   Sis. Fowler leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, A. R. Fowler; daughters, Ernestine Jacobs, Althea Fowler, and Brenda (Steve) Harding; many family members and friends.
