Lillian (Sturgell) Howison, "Lil", 93, of Chillicothe, died 7:30 am, Sunday, March 4, 2007 in her home, following an extended illness. She was born November 24, 1913 in Pike Co. to Steven and Mahala Ward Sturgell. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Harvey Howison; two sons, Thomas and Harvey Howison, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Kelly Depugh, of Chillicothe, Robbie Starkey of Ft. Wayne, IN, Scott Starkey, of Washington D.C., Tommy Bayer, of ChillicotheTammy Bayer, of Germany, Amanda Howison of Chillicothe, Sean Howison, of Pittsburgh, PA and six great-grandchildren. Lil is also survived by two sisters, Betty Tillis, of Florida and Helen Spetnagel of Richmond Dale; and over fifty nieces and nephews. Lil graduated from Richmond Dale High School in 1932, and later attended the Chillicothe Business School, graduating as a stenographer. She married Harlan Starkey in 1936. Their son, Harlan "Buddy" Starkey preceded her in death. Lil and Harvey owned and managed Jerry's Pizza for over 50 years. She attended the First United Methodist Church. She will be deeply missed by many friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, March 13, 2007 in the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Charles Case officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden, Massieville. Friends may call 5-8 pm Monday at Haller's.
