Hobart W. Harris, 84, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, November 2, 2023 at his home.
He was born November 23, 1938 in Chillicothe, son of the late Carl Harris and Mary (Patterson) Brown. On January 21, 1961, he married his beloved wife, Martha Ellen (Hiles) Harris who survives.
Also surviving are three children, David (Tami) Harris, Cynthia Harris, and Diane (Todd) Skaggs; two grandchildren, Jeremy (Lauren) Harris, and Jhera Harris; two great-grandchildren, Allison Harris, and Jerin Harris; as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis (Doug) Ray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, James "Jim" Manson.
Hobart worked at the Mead Paper Company as a machine operator for many years. He was a member of the New Life Church of Christ in Christian Union in Richmond Dale. In his free time, he could frequently be found out tinkering in the garage. He loved old cars, going camping, and taking trips to the mountains and the beach. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and always made them his priority in life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held on at 1:00pm on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Haller Funeral Home, with his son, Dr. David Harris officiating. Friends may join the family for visitation from 12:00pm until the time of his service.
