Herman Cook

Herman Cook Herman Cook, 81, of Chillicothe, died 4:52 pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born September 10, 1927 in Ross Co. to Harold and Arvilla Bowdle Cook. On October 21, 1949 he married Sylvia S. Hawkins, who died June 13, 2007. Survivors include a daughter, Diana (Jeffrey) Bost, of Chillicothe; a son, Harold (Deborah) Cook, Grand Prarie, TX; 4 grandchildren, Christopher and Vincent Arrowood and Shawn and Sherrie Cook; 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 3 brothers, Wayne and Charles Cook, both of Chillicothe and Edwin Cook of Londonderry. Mr. Cook retired in 1996 from the Mead Paper Corp. and was a member of the Mead Retirees. He enjoyed racing standard bred horses and was a member of the Ohio Harness Horseman's Association. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday in the Haller Funeral Home, Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call 5-8 pm Thursday at Haller's.
