Herbert M. Zingsheim, 98, of Chillicothe, died 12:36 pm, Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Westmoreland Place Nursing Home, following a brief illness. He was born June 11, 1915 in Chicago, IL to the late Wilhelm G. and Augusta Dahm Zingsheim. On April 13, 1942 he married Marion A. Seifert, who died February 11, 2011. Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Norm) Raybould, Chillicothe, a son, Wayne (Arlene) Zingsheim, Park Ridge, IL; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Herb Zingsheim; a sister, Gloria Stuller and a brother, William Zingsheim. Mr. Zingsheim retired as a truck driver from the Teamsters Union in 1974. He was an Eagle Scout and received the Order of the Arrow, scouting's highest award. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. The family would like to acknowledge the Adena Health System staff and the staff of Westmoreland Place for their tender, loving care during his stay. The family would also like to acknowledge his special neighbors on Simon Court; Herb's "Meals on Wheels" girl, Jan who was a Godsend and dear friend; and Dr. Chris Skocik for his years of care for my Dad. A celebration of his life will be held 3:00 pm Saturday at the HALLER FUNERAL HOME, with Dan Ramey Sr. officiating. Friends may call 1-3 pm Saturday at Haller's.
