Henry Francis Kettler, 62, of South Salem, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, August 27, 2017, at the Adena Greenfield Medical Center. He was born November 22, 1954, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, to the late William A. and Dorthea L. (Baker) Kettler. In 1985, he married Madonna Kettler, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Richard (Nicole) Kettler, of Chillicothe; and Gabe (Jennifer) Kettler, of Washington; as well as 8 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by a granddaughter, and also his brother, William Kettler, Jr. Growing up, Hank was raised in New Lebanon, Ohio where he enjoyed hunting and trapping. He loved being on the water going boating and swimming. He also loved to explore and hike. Much of his life revolved around the military, and when was in high school, he decided to join the United States Navy. He served during the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged. After marrying his wife Madonna, much of their life together was spent traveling, riding motorcycles, and exploring new places. As a Gunsmith, he had a love of firearms and enjoyed collecting, building, and repairing weapons. Everyone knew him for his amazing sense of humor and his fun personality. In accordance with his wishes, cremation services will be performed. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family, and announced at a later date.
