Helen Waldon

Helen N. Waldon, 100, of Columbus, formerly of Chillicothe, died at 10:22pm Saturday, October 19, 2013, at her residence. She was born January 4, 1913, in Utica, NY, to the late Sam and Mabelle (Hunter) Waldon. Helen was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1931. She then earned her Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University in 1935. She taught for many years in the Chillicothe City Schools, before retiring in 1971. She also hosted a radio show on WBEX called "Coffee with Miss Helen." Helen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Chillicothe Country Club, the Century Club, AAUW, the Order of the Eastern Star, 419, the Chillicothe Garden Club and a Dance Club at Ohio University. She devoted her life to her collection of friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, October 24, in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Grove officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-11:00am at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of HALLER FUNERAL HOME.
