Helen Mae Stanton, 93, of Chillicothe, passed away early Thursday morning, August 1, 2024 at her home, following a brief illness.
She was born August 19, 1930, in Chillicothe, daughter of the late Foster I. and Rachel M. (Chaney) Cochenour. She married her beloved husband, Robert F. Stanton, who preceded her in death in 2005.
Surviving are two children, R. Thomas (Nan) Stanton, and Lisa (Larry) White; grandchildren, Tommy Stanton, Lori Spindler, Julie (Justin) Poole, Megan (Kevin) Lyons, Marisa (Matt) Sagraves, and Michaela (Sam) Kaiser; great-grandchildren, Logan (Hailey), Levi, Luke, Ben (Kalynn), Nate (Olivia), Kaylee, Cayden, Cohen, and Cooper; a great-great-grandson, Owen; step-grandchildren, Chad (Shannon) Kempton, and Craig (Ashlie) Kempton; step-great-grandchildren, Kensey, Ava, Carter, Ethan, Emerson, Lainey, and Lola; her sister, Phyllis (George) Baker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark A. Stanton; and two siblings, Leonard Cochenour and Barbara Patterson.
Helen was a homemaker who devoted her life to family. In her free time, she loved going to bowling and playing bingo.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, where Helen will be laid to rest in St. Margaret Cemetery next to her beloved husband and son.
