Helen Roskos

Helen R. Roskos, 93, of Chillicothe, died at 11:35am Wednesday, November 28, 2012, in Heartland of Chillicothe following a brief illness. She was born October 9, 1919, in Donora, PA, to the late Joseph and Anna (Kovach) Huhra. She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Morris, Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law Raymond J. (Ella) Roskos, Monessen, PA; grandchildren: Raymond J. (Mindy) Roskos, Jr., O'Fallon, IL; Charles A. "Cam" (Olivia) Morris II, Chillicothe; Amy M. (Timothy) Kern, Chillicothe; Ronald Gembarosky, Virginia; Robin (Albert) Mills, Florida; 9 great-grandchildren including Jara, Jasper, Mikey, Tucker and Finley; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Agnes Hughes, Ermin Huhra, Pauline Fortuna, Andrew J. Huhra; an infant brother Joseph Huhra, Jr.; and a son-in-law Charles A. "Art" Morris. Helen was a graduate of Donora High School, Class of 1938. She had worked as a clerk for Purpero and McCambridge Food Markets, retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and was known for her crochet work. She loved the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. The family would like to give special thanks to Heartland Nursing Home, the staff of Kendall Homecare and to Dr. John Gabis for his love and care over the years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30pm Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. William Hahn, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 11am -1pm at Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Peter Church, 126 Church St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
