Helen L. Hall Menear, 90, of Chillicothe, died at 9:30pm Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Westmoreland Place. She was born April 5, 1921, in Ross Co. to the late Clarence H. and Mayme (Strausbaugh) Hall. On December 19, 1942, she married A. Leroy Menear, who preceded her in death on January 1, 1985. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Donna (Jim) Bragg, Dayton, OH; son-in-law Philip Niswender, Chillicothe; grandchildren: Kevin (Lia) Bragg, Dayton, OH; Kirk (Laura) Bragg, Vandalia, OH; Kimberly Niswender, Chillicothe; great-grandchildren: Amber, Courtney, Alysa, Zachary and Hannah Bragg; a special friend Darlene Strawser, Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Deborah Menear Niswender; her sister and brother-in-law Leona (Donald) White; and brothers and sisters-in-law Donald (Helen) Hall and Warren (Marie) Hall. Helen was a member of the Bridge Street Church of Christ. She worked at JCPenney for over 15 years and also retired from working in the cafeteria for the Chillicothe City Schools for over 10 years. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and keeping her yard neat as a pin. The family would like to acknowledge the caregivers and staff at Westmoreland, 1st floor and 2 East for their kindness and care of Helen over the past several years, especially Shawna Curtis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, December 1, in the Haller Funeral Home with Robert & Tom Hull officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 333 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43604.
