Helen Meehan

Helen Adrienne (Jean) Meehan left this earth December 31, 2017.  She outlived her husband Thomas J. Meehan who passed from this life September 17, 200l.   Jean was born January 13, 1926 to John and Pauline Reagan in Scottdale, Pennsylvania.   Surviving are children Peggy (Walt) Sambi; Tom (Suzanne); Debby (Bill) Wilber; Kathy (Ken) Luban; John (Angie); ten grandchildren Thomas Meehan, Bridget Kantor, Stacie Tomlinson, Daniel Meehan, Patrick Meehan, Elizabeth Gatrell, Tiffany Kelley, Aaron Wilber, Seth Wilber, Luke Meehan and ten great-grandchildren.   She was a member of St. Peter's Church where in her younger years she worked in the school cafeteria. She also served as an usher for Saturday evening masses.  Her volunteer efforts included logging many hours at the Scioto-Paint Valley Mental Health Center.  She was an employee of the Chillicothe Veterans Administration for 12 years, leaving when husband Tom retired in 1974.  She and her husband traveled the world over earning her the nickname "go-go girl".   She is also survived by four sisters: Annalie De Carlo (Cleveland), Florence Marrioti, (Cleveland), Patty Ceschin of Republic, Pennsylvania and Polly Esper of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.  Nieces and nephews too numerous to mention and a very special friend Domanique Smith of Frankfort, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday January 6, at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.
