Helen L. Hitch, 93, of Chillicothe, died at 6:05am Friday, November 24, 2006, in Mercy Fairfield Hospital. She was born January 7, 1913, in Ross Co. to the late Russell E. and Henrietta Anderson Murch. On October 29, 1936, she married William L. Hitch, who preceded her in death in January of 1969. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law William (Virgene) Hitch, Frankfort; James (Eva Jean) Hitch, Chillicothe; Walter Hitch and his companion Carolyn Barrett, Lexington, SC; daughter and son-in-law Kathryn (Robert) DeLong, Fairfield, OH; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law Violet (Paul) Crook, of Zephyr Hills, FL. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by 1 grandchild, 1 great-grandchild, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters. Helen was a longtime active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church until she moved to Fairfield, OH for health reasons. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed baking pies. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Monday, November 27, at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Hess and Pastor Timothy Swanson officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00am until 1:00pm Monday at Haller Funeral Home, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 12:45pm.
