Helen Davis

Helen L. Davis, 89, of Chillicothe, died at 3:35pm January 9, 2018, at Valley View Care Center following an extended illness.   She was born May 13, 1928, in Pickaway County to the late Roy M. and Ruth (Switzer) Hinton. On June 25, 1946, she married John "Jack" Davis, who preceded her in death in July 3, 1974.   Surviving are her children: Sheila M. (Charles) Stetts, Henderson, NV; Kay (Lem) Ott, Chillicothe; John H. (Carol) Davis, Chillicothe; and Kevin K. (Rhonda) Davis, Circleville; granddaughters: Amy (Todd) Allen, Heather (Paul) Crocker, Amber (Mark) Holm, Abbey (Pete) Ott-Shaw; grandsons: Chip Carroll, Zach (Jenelle) Ott, John R. Davis, Drew Davis, and Tyler (Brittany) Davis; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law Rex Queen, of Chillicothe. She was predeceased by brothers Roy "Jake" Hinton, Jr. and Robert "Bob" J. Hinton; and a sister Phyllis Queen.   Helen was a graduate of Unioto High School and worked for the Board of Elections and Amber's Drive-Thru. She was a lifetime member and Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 757; a former member of the Belles and Beaus Square Dancing, First Capital Cloggers, and volunteered at the Ross County Senior Citizens Center, the VA Golf Couse and a mentor at Unioto High School. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and caregivers of Liberty Village and Valley View Care Center for taking such good care of Helen.   Funeral services will be held 10am Friday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Carol Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8pm at Haller's.
