Helen L. Clyne, 80, of Kingston, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Ross County, Ohio on February 8, 1946, to the late Ross T. and Irene (Jordan) Downing. On June 10, 1977, she married Louis E. Clyne, who preceded her in death.
Helen is survived by daughter, Tami (Dwight) Dyer, with whom she lived with for 20 years. Also surviving are grandsons, Adam and Brandon (Deanna) Dyer; great-grandchildren, Matthew (Calla), Allie, Aiden, Delaney, and Holden Dyer; and sister, Stella Cantrell. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary (Ronald) Stone, Roy Downing, Reba (Ronald) Davis, and Ross "Buddy" Downing.
She was a former employee of General Electric in Circleville and the Frankfort Corner Restaurant. Helen enjoyed an early retirement and spend time traveling the United States with her husband and sister. She was an avid gardner, especially of flowers and was known for her green thumb and pink petunias. She enjoyed doing crafts with her husband and grandchildren and was a skilled painter. Her quick wit and humor was present always and she was a storyteller at heart. Helen believed in family and devoted her life to caring for her loved ones. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 1:00pm at Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00am until the time of service.
