Hazel Smith

Hazel M. Smith, 87, died at 1:13am on March 11, 2018, at her residence.   She was born June 2, 1930, in Toledo, OH, to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Hayden) Brewer. On June 20, 1948, she married Lee Roy "Jimmy" Smith, who preceded her in death on June 6, 2002.   Surviving are their children: Roger (Norma) Smith, Marilyn (Rodger) Davis, Charlotte (Michael) Routt, Randall (Nancy) Smith, all of Chillicothe, Michael (Mary) Smith, of Texas, and Cynthia (Patrick) Blair, Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren: Brian, Cristy, Patrick, Tony, Nicholas, Matthew, Sarah, Angela, Jeffrey, Erin, Carrie Ann, Debbie, Emily, Leesa, Scott, Kimberly and Christopher; 32 great-grandchildren; a sister Wanda Detty Halcomb, Frankfort; and brothers: Robert Brewer and Norman France, both of Napoleon, OH, Jack Brewer, Chillicothe and David France, Frankfort. She was predeceased by sisters: Virginia Sumner, Mary Ruth "Tootie" Morgan and Betty Goodwin; and brothers: Kenneth and Larry France.   Hazel was graduate of the former Frankfort High School and retired from GE in Circleville. She enjoyed her retirement, spending her time sewing and helping her husband run the Auction. She delighted in visiting with her grandkids. The family would like thank NCR Adult Day Care Program, NCR Hospice and, friend and caregiver Angela Leffler for their care and compassion over the last several years.   Funeral service will be held at 10am Saturday, March 17, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Calling hours will be held from 6-8pm Friday at the funeral home.   Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to either: Chillicothe Center for Senior Health, Adult Day Care, 807 Western Ave., Chillicothe; of the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Peter, 285 W. Water St., Chillicothe.
