Hattie Gibbs

Hattie L. Gibbs, 83, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on December 19, 2005, in Heartland Nursing Home. She was born September 23, 1922, in Chillicothe, to the late John Henry and Blanche Mae Stanley Winfield. In 1957, she married Clarkson D. Gibbs, who preceded her in death on February 6, 1982. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Alice (Charles) Brown; grandson Clark (Karen) Lee; great-granddaughters Megan and Monique Lee, all of Chillicothe; her sister Ruby Wallace, of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Stanley, Luther, Oliver, and Garrett Winfield; and sisters Elizabeth Smith and Alice Stone. Mrs. Gibbs retired from the Mead Corp. where she worked in the staff house. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Graveside services will be held 11:00am Thursday in Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Steve Ragland officiating. At her request, calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.
