Harvey Long

Harvey Long, 83, of Chillicothe, died July 12, 2022 at Signature Healthcare-Chillicothe, following a brief illness.

He was born July 23, 1938 in Ross Co. to the late Dale and Grace Elliott Long.  On April 13, 1962 he married Glenda J. Friend Long, who died March 28, 2011.  Survivors include his daughter, Vicky (William) Scott, of South Salem; a grandson, Brett (Ashley) Long, of Columbus; two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Austin Long; step-grandchildren, Sarah Smith and Josh Case; two sisters, June Bushatz and Thelma Skaggs; a sister-in-law, Linda Burton; a brother-in-law, Ray Osborne; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Marjorie Yinger.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Long; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lamar Bushatz, Floyd Skaggs, Bill Burton, Jay Montgomery, and Bonnie Montgomery; a son-in-law, Joe Case and a step-grandson, Joel Case.

Harvey owned and operated Long's Marathon until 1976, when he went to work for Kenworth Truck.  He retired from Kenworth in 2009.  He was an avid mushroom hunter.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.  Burial will follow in Twin Twp. Cemetery.   Friends may call 2-4 pm Sunday at Haller's.
