Harold N. Ward, 65, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 11:20am Monday October 27, 2008, in the Cleveland Clinic following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, October 31, at the First Wesleyan Church, 89 S. Mulberry St., with Pastor B. Jay Dailey officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8pm at the Haller Funeral Home. Harold was born March 26, 1943, in Louisa, KY to the late Conrad and Anna Teresa Skaggs Ward. On October 28, 1972, he married the former Vickie M. Purpero, who survives. Also surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law Charles (Megan) Ward, of Lewis Center, OH; Chad (Tracey) Ward, of Reno, NV; grandsons Casen and Tyler Ward; and Braden Ward expected in December; brothers and sisters-in-law Donald (Jackie) Ward, Chillicothe; Homer (Mary) Ward, Bidwell, OH; sister and brother-in-law Jessie (Carey) Kellough; and sister Georgia Weiderman, all of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased a brother-in-law Fred Weiderman; sister-in-law Doris Ward; and an infant nephew James Conrad Weiderman. Harold was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1961. Harold retired from the time office of Chilpaco in 2002 following 41 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He attended the First Wesleyan Church and was a member of the American Legion, Post 62. He loved his grandchildren, golf and Ohio State Football. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family c/o Homeland Credit Union, 310 Caldwell St., Chillicothe.
