Harold "Buck" William Streitenberger, a beloved father, neighbor, and friend passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 22nd, 2025, in Chillicothe, Ohio. Born on June 30th, 1930, in Chillicothe, Ohio, Buck led a rich and diverse life filled with love, dedication, and service to his family, community, and country.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Lora Lee Streitenberger-Purpero, two grand fur babies, Romeo and Tutu, and a special friend and neighbor, Nevada Hart.

Buck was the cherished husband of the late Patricia Lee "Pat" (Shaulis) Streitenberger, whom he married in April 1955 and with whom he shared many precious years and adventures. He was predeceased by his wife, their son Steven Lee Streitenberger, and his parents, Harold R. and Beatrice I. (Rhinehart) Streitenberger. He was also preceded in death by his two fur babies, Gigi and Pookey; and his three fur granddogs, Jefe, Javier, Rosita.

A proud graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1949. His commitment to service was evidenced by his enlistment in the United States Air Force on February 7, 1951, where he served in the Korean War until he was Honorably discharged on February 6, 1955.

Upon returning home, Buck joined the family business at Streitenberger Distributing Company, working alongside his father until 1978. During this time Buck pursued higher education at Franklin University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in 1968. After a brief stint in real estate, he dedicated his career to public welfare, joining the Department of Human Services in March 1979. Buck's dedication and hard work earned him the role of Income Maintenance Supervisor, with the last 5 years as the Food Stamp Supervisor until his retirement in July 1993.

Buck's life was also enriched by his passions and hobbies. He found joy in playing tennis, strumming his acoustic guitar, and traveling with Pat to Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. These pursuits brought him happiness and solace, leaving behind cherished memories for those who loved him.

May he rest in eternal peace.

In accordance with his wishes there will be not public calling hours or services. Private burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery at a later date.
