Harold Speakman

Harold Eugene "Skeeter" Speakman, 73, of Chillicothe, died Friday, February 27, 2015, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born January 2, 1942 in Ross Co. to the late Raymond and Lillian Bennett Speakman. On December 8, 1963 he married the former Mary Lou Bethel Speakman, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Bryan E. Speakman and Tammy Jo (John) Magill, both of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Jeffery (Adrienne) and Brandon Wayne Magill, and Nick Arbaugh; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Morgan, and Lane Magill and Kasondra Lee; four sisters and two brothers. He was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, and his mother and father-in-law, Wayne and Mary Bethel. Skeeter was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was an avid gardener, and hunter. He enjoyed working on VW Bugs, rock and roll, and dancing. His favorite times were spent with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and with the neighborhood children. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Happy Valley Church, 454 Trego Creek Rd. Burial will follow in Huntington Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call 11-1 Tuesday at the church.
