Harold Ramsey

Harold C. Ramsey, Sr., 76, of Chillicothe, passed away at home at 4:12pm June 1, 2006. He was born July 9, 1929, in Chillicothe, to the late William F. and Mary E. Ingham Ramsey. On January 29, 1953, he married the former Betty Jean Smith, who preceded him in death on December 12, 2000. Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law Mary Lou (Tim) Shoemaker; Brenda Sue (Kenneth) Pollock; Denise L. Lance, all of Chillicothe; Teresa Lynne (Daniel) Marshall, Bloomingburg; sons and daughters-in-law Harold C. (Denise) Ramsey, Jr.; Rodney W. (Toni) Ramsey, all of Chillicothe; Danny (Barb) Ramsey, Bainbridge; grandchildren Terry, Brenda, and Brandon Shoemaker; Daniel and James Marshall; Stephanie Collins, and Matthew Ramsey; great-grandchildren Madyson Arnold, Brendon Shoemaker, Kasie Shoemaker, and Zachary Marshall; sisters Gladys Shephard, Betty Alexander, and Evelyn Bowers; brothers Francis and Lawrence Ramsey; a special friend Jane McKinnis and nephew Dick Ramsey. He was predeceased by brothers Bill, Don, Herbert, and Harry Ramsey. Harold was a Crew Chief at the Mead Corp. before retiring in 1991. He was a member of Brookside CCCU. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 757, and the Mead Union, Local 731. Funeral services will be held 1:30pm Monday, June 5, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. David Dean and Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Adena Hospice, 272 Hospital Rd., Chillicothe.
