Harold R. Malone, Sr., 84, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord and his loving wife at 11:45pm on January 13, 2008, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, January 17, at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Hartley and Pastor Dan Zickafoose officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veteran Honor Guard will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. Harold was born October 25, 1923, in Chillicothe, to the late John S. and Jessie Schaffer Malone. On October 11, 1950, he married the former Betty Jane Pollitt, who preceded him in death on December 11, 1994. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Harold R. "Bob", Jr. (Kelly) Malone, Chillicothe; daughters Diana Thompson and her fiancée Keith Delong, of Waverly; Sarah (Robert) Harmon; Mary Wolfe and her fiancée Lee Isbell, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Valerie (Phillip) Landman; Colleen (Donnie) Funk; William (Ambra) Malone; Timothy Malone; Bobby Joe Malone; Amanda Hodge; Charlotte Hodge; April (Tommy) Morrison; Michaela Harmon; Catrina Wolfe; Andria Downs, Ken Isbell; Chris Isbell; great-grandchildren: Heather, Brianna, Zachary, Taylor, Rylee, Evan, Jessica, Lacey, Alizia, Erica, Elizabeth, Aaron, Michael, Austin, De'Onte, and one yet to be born; sisters Grace Eblin; and Marjorie (Neil) Elliott; special friends Judy (Jerry) Yeater; Rod (Kim) Young; Joe (Elsie) Young; and his faithful feline companion "Blackie." He was predeceased by sisters Ruth Storts; Violet Atwood; a half-brother Sonnie Malone; a half-sister Betty Jean Malone; two grandchildren Isaac and Alicia Harmon; and a great-grandchild. Harold attended Mt. Tabor Church. He was a founding member and a member for over 45 years of the Huntington Township Volunteer Fire Department.
