Harold C. Madru, 99, of Chillicothe passed away December 24, 2021 at Adena Hospital.
He was born September 20,1922 to the late Clarence and Duena Madru. On July 7, 1946 he married Nettie Johnson, who preceded him in death in 2011. He is survived by his sons, Harold (Nora) Madru, Stephen (Sheila) Madru. Grandchildren Jason Madru, Anna Cenci, and Gretchen (Kevin) Devers. Great grandchildren Jude and Elaina Cenci and John Wilkins (Shari) who he always considered one of his Boys. He was preceded in death by brothers Charles, Kenneth (Steve) and Bill Madru. Special thanks to Linda Uhrig, who helped him through the Pandemic and Corey Holderbaum.
Harold joined the Coast Guard in 1942 and served in the Atlantic Theatre. After the war he joined his brothers Charles and Steve at Madru Plumbing, where he retired in 1984. He raised and trained Beagles and ran them in field trials at the Southern Ohio Beagle Club where he volunteered countless days installing plumbing, building kennels, mowing grass and creating paths. He spent lots of time in Florida and with his best friend, Cater Miller fishing all around the area but mostly at his fish camp on Alum Cliff Rd.
Harold was often seen walking his grand dogs Krissy and Roxie, who were his companions in later life. He was a member of the VFW, AMVETS and St. Mary Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
