Harold Denver "Dennie" Carver Jr., 62, of Chillicothe, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Ohio State University Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was born July 15, 1955 in Chillicothe to Harold D. Carver Sr. and Norma V. Minney Penisten. On January 2, 1979 he married Joy E. Simon, who survives. In addition to his mother and his wife, survivors include two children, Laurel (Eric) Lenox and Joshua (Candice) Carver, both of Chillicothe; six grandchildren, Kayla (Steven) Lewis, Andrew and Jacob Lenox, Kyle and Dylan Rice, and Ian Carver; a great-grandchild, Gabriel with an great-granddaughter on the way; five siblings, Robin (Barry) Haubeil, Chillicothe, Pam (Bruce) Ballard, Albany, OH, Teresa Sayers, Clara Bennett and Jerry (Cindy) Carver, all of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Denny was a US Air Force veteran and retired from the Ohio Air National Guard. He was a member of the Elks, BPOE 52; and the Eagles, FOE Aerie 600. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a fan of the Ohio State University, Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Military graveside services, conducted by the US Air Force and Ohio Air National Guard, will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Sunday at Haller's.
