Neal French, 83, died at 7:04pm Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Westmoreland Place.
He was born December 11, 1933, in Pike County, OH to the late Howard E. and Ethel M. (Massie) French. Neal is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Kathy (Dennis) Dalton, Karol (Steve) Specht; sons and daughters-in-law Bob (Jenny) French, Jim (Nikki) French; grandchildren: Carrie (Ronnie) Anderson, Stephen Specht, Matt (Sarah) Specht, Tony Dalton, Douglas French, Nicholas French, Vaughn French and Brogan Parker; great-grandchildren: Emma and Jacob Specht; and a brother Lowell French. In addition to his parents, Neal was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Ellsworth Wright, a brother Don French, and sister-in-law Marla French. Neal was a graduate of Southeastern High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio University in 1962. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1953-1957 and retired from Mead Paper Co. in 1994, where he worked as an engineer. Neal was also a member of the Chillicothe Lion's Club. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Westmoreland Place and National Church Residency Hospice for their care of Neal. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 7:00pm at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Fr. Sean Dooley officiating. Military graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Little Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from Saturday 5:00-7:00pm at Haller's, where a Lion's service will be held at 6:45pm. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 285 W.
