Guy Pigott

Guy Thomas Pigott, Jr., 79, of Chillicothe, passed through the gates of heaven and into the arms of Christ Jesus at 8:30 am, Thursday, October 10, 2013. He was born on February 24, 1934, in Chillicothe, OH to the late Guy Thomas and Nellie Mae (Edwards) Pigott, Sr. On January 6, 1957 he married Shirley Jo Finley, who preceded him in death on July 26, 2005. Surviving are their children, Michael J. (Kathy) Pigott, and Melanie J. Pigott, both of Chillicothe, and Melissa J. (Mark) Calkins, of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Erin Pigott and Hunter Pigott-Garnett, both of Chillicothe, Zac (Cassie) Calkins, of Connellsville, PA, Jacob Calkins, of Florence, KY, and Molly Calkins, of Cincinnati; and a sister, June (Bill) Hickel, of Chillicothe. In addition to his wife Shirley, Guy was preceded by a son Mark J. Pigott, and a brother Clyde Pigott. Guy was a 1952 Graduate of Chillicothe High School. On January 26, 1955 he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for the next 3 years. He went on to work at The Mead Paper Company before retiring in 1996. Guy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fellowshipping with folks, especially at the Ross County Senior Citizens Center, and never met a stranger. Guy was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. A Memorial Service will be held 5 pm, October 21, at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Drew Karst officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Private graveside services will be held in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Chillicothe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Guy's name can be made to the Ross County Senior Citizens, 1824 Western Avenue, Chillicothe, OH.
