Grace Winfield

Grace I. Winfield, 84, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 2:46pm Tuesday July 8, 2008, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, July 12, in the Haller Funeral Home with Bishop Melvin Maughmer, Clifford Brown and Rev. Sherman Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 12-2pm Saturday at Haller Funeral Home. Grace was born January 29, 1924, in Chillicothe, to the late Silas and Mary E. (Lynch) Mayo. On August 3, 1946, she married Lloyd E. Winfield, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 17, 1989. Surviving are her daughters Barbara Pettiford, of Greenfield; Beatrice Lytle, Chillicothe; sons Lloyd E. Winfield, Jr., Houston, TX; Carl E. (Betty) Winfield; and Glenn B. Winfield, all of Chillicothe; 17 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons Gary L. Winfield, Michael K. Winfield, Demeatris Winfield; daughter Mary Jo Winfield; 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Grace was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was a graduate of Twin High School. She loved playing cards and playing the lottery.
