Grace Irvin

Grace K. Irvin, 100, of Chillicothe, died 4:40 am, Saturday, August 18, 2012, at her home, following an extended illness. She was born November 29, 1911 in Ross Co. to the late William and Carrie Overly Fink. On January 31, 1931 she married the late Ophrey Irvin, who died September 8, 1970. Survivors include her loving daughters who cared for her, Joanne Cochenour, Nancy (companion Jerry Spencer) Gilmore, Barbara (Ronald) Stephenson, Phyllis Henry and Jane (Robert) Montgomery; grandchildren, Melissa (Dana) Fahlgren, Tammy Cochenour, Ronda Murray, Scott (Jamie) Stephenson, Cynthia McNeely, Cheri (Chip) Maxwell, Jodie (Warren) Jordan and Cathy Dalton; 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Elma McCarty and Mae Irvin. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter, Katherine Irvin; sisters, Helen Smith, Anna Riley, and Mabel Woolum; brothers, Ralph, Frank, Charles, and Joseph Fink, and sons-in-law, Henry Cochenour, David Henry, Charles Gilmore, and Michael Thatcher. Grace attended the High St. Church of Christ in Christian Union. The family has fond memories of her excellent cooking. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Bruce Viar officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 pm Monday or one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Haller's.
