Glenn Woods

Glenn M. Woods, 87, of Chillicothe, died at 11:36pm March 19, 2023, at his residence following an extended illness.   He was born June 5, 1935, in Fayette Co., OH to the late James S. and Mabel R. (O' Harrah) Woods.  On June 16, 1956, he married the former Mary Sue Wiseman, who preceded him in death in 2011.   Surviving are his sons: Kenneth (Robin) Woods and Hobart (Kim) Woods, both of Chillicothe; his companion Carolyn Ackley, Chillicothe; his son-in-law Harry Bolyard; grandchildren: Jason (Crystal) Bolyard, Justin (Jennifer) Bolyard, Stephanie (Jason) Larson, and Corrine Woods; great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Braxton, Weston, Dalton, Cody, Tommy, Waylon, Prestina, Lonnie, and Trinity; his brother Robert L. Woods, of Pensacola, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend Gary McClauskey.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Debra Bolyard; granddaughter Jessica Saunders; 6 brothers and 2 sisters.   Glenn worked at the Mead Paper Co. for over 40 years.  He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the VFW, Post 108; American Legion, Post 62; AMVETS, Post 4, where he served on the Color Guard.  He was also a member of the Logan Elm Lodge, No. 624, F & AM, the Aladdin Shrine and the Ross County Shrine Club.  He also volunteered at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.   In accordance with his wishes, private military graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ross County Humane Society, 2308A Lick Run Road, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
