Glenn Price

July 2, 1938 — December 28, 2024

Glenn Price passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2024, at the age of 86. Glenn was born on July 2, 1938, in Oak Hill, West Virginia to Vivian and Frank Price. Glenn was forever proud of his roots, crediting them for much of his success and proudly telling everyone he met, "If West Virginia is almost heaven, then I'm almost an angel."

As a young boy, Glenn moved to Ohio with his father to enter the housing and real estatebusiness. They had no place to stay and only enough lumber to begin building their first house, which they lived in as it took shape. When the house was finished, the rest of the familyfollowed. The Price family built many homes across Southern Ohio, and many streets and subdivisions still bear the names of Glenn and his family. Together, they eventually founded Price Insurance, which supported many in our community.

Glenn graduated from Waverly High School in 1958, where he met the love of his life, Sunny Price. Glenn and Sunny married in 1961 and shared 63 wonderful years together. Words alone cannot pay tribute to their devotion to each other, which can only be evidenced by the many years they shared and the loving family they created.

Glenn served in Korea from 1961 to 1963, earning a Good Conduct medal after risking his life to save two children from a flooded river. After returning home, he worked too many jobs to possibly enumerate and began his career as an entrepreneur, starting multiple successful businesses by himself, in addition to his family business. Glenn was an active member of the community throughout his life, serving as a Deputy Sheriff for ten years after retiring from Price Insurance in 2001. In his lifetime, he was also a member of the Chillicothe Lions Club, and the Boards of the YMCA and Kingston National Bank.

After retiring from the Sheriff's Department, he spent his leisure time rock hunting, enjoying nature, playing pickleball, and being a devoted father and grandfather.

Glenn was predeceased in death by his mother Vivian Price; his father, Frank Price; and his brothers Minford, Dewey, and Donald Price.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Sunny Price; his children, Bryan (Lisa) Price, Tabitha (Chad) Lusk, and Samantha (David) Shea; his brother, G. Scott (Krystal) Price; his grandchildren, Adam Steele, Isaac Steele, Jacob Price, Caleb Price, Lauren Price, Rachel (J.D.) Blevins, Dillon (Katie) Lusk, Audra (Levi) Boring, Chloe Shea, Josie Shea, and Lanie Shea; his honorary grandchildren, Gunnar Free and Addie Shea; and his great-grandchildren, Caden Steele, Cael Steele, Cayson Steele, Rowan Steele, Braxton Blevins, Bentley Blevins, Beckham Blevins, Maddison Lusk, Gracie Lusk, and Hazel Boring.

Calling hours will be held at Haller Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 31, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral services immediately following. Military graveside honors conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
