Glenn Thurman Potter, 91, of Chillicothe, died 8:05 am, Monday, September 3, 2018, at National Church Residences-Chillicothe, following a brief illness. He was born August 29, 1927 in Louisa, KY to the late Frank Pierce and Kerlis Conley Potter. He married Juanita Slone, and they shared 61 years of marriage prior to her death in 2007. Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer (Terry) Abels, Pittsburgh, PA; a granddaughter, Beth (Peter) Masto, Pittsburgh, PA; a grandson, Marc (Lori) Abels, York, PA; great-grandchildren, Brendan Mastro, and Benjamin and Jacob Abels; two sisters, Christa Johnson and Norma Walls; and a brother, Ronald (Sherry) Potter. Mr. Potter retired from Mead Paper Company and the VA Medical Center-Chillicothe. He was a World War II Army veteran and longtime member of Tyler Memorial United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler and loved playing Euchre and Corn-hole. He was a member of the Ross Co. Senior Citizens Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Rev. Sam Mincey officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 10-11:00 am Saturday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ross Co. Senior Citizens Center, 1824 Western Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601 in his honor.
