Glen Vernon Watson, 87, of Chillicothe, died at 9:30 am on December 30, 2023, at National Church Residences surrounded by loved ones following a brief illness.
He was born on November 17, 1936, in Chillicothe, to Elza and Icel Watson. On August 10, 1958 he married Bertha Jane Reed who preceded him in death on March 10, 2023. Surviving are: his son Tracey (Cheryl) Watson of Chillicothe; daughter Crystal (Matt) Prichard of South Salem; his grandchildren: Robert "Tony" (Rachel) Watson; Kathryn (Jamason) Lawrance; Megan Watson; Rachael (Edward) Carr; great-grandsons Lukas and Miles Carr. Preceded in death by brother Norman (Geneva) Watson and sister Virginia (Don) McKee.
Glen was a proud graduate of Chillicothe High School Class of 1954. He was proud to serve in the United Stated Army and retired from WearEver in 1990. He was a 25-year founding member of the Springfield Township Fire Department. He enjoyed playing in the local recreational softball league, playing horseshoes and spending time with his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm Saturday, January 6, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm Saturday at the funeral home.
