Glen Friend

Glen L. Friend, 86, of Columbus, died 12:07 pm, Monday October 13, 2014, at his home following an extended illness. He was born July 13, 1928, in Ivydale, WV, to the late Joseph and Anna (Hively) Friend, of Ivydale. On October 27, 1962, he married Ethel J. Frasure who survives. Also surviving are his children, Jeff Friend (Sonja), of Columbus; Wanda (Walt) Seyler, of Mainville, OH; and Debra Friend, of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Angela, Jennifer, Jessica, Stephanie, Maddison, Savannah, and Michael; step-grandchildren Dakota and Montana; and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by a son, Rick Friend, four sisters, and one brother. Glen was a veteran of the US Navy and served in the Civil Air Patrol. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday at Haller Funeral Home, with Elders Arvil Murray Jr. and John Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00-1:00 Thursday at Haller's. The family would like to thank the staff at Mt. Carmel Hospice and the VA for their love and support throughout Glen's illness.
