Gladys E. Hamilton Gladys Evelyn Ramey Hamilton, 87, of Pleasant Valley, entered her heavenly home June 12, 2008 and was reunited with her parents, husband, daughter and a great host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, June 16, 2008, in the Haller Funeral Home, with Rev. John Burris officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden, with the deacons of Chillicothe Baptist Church serving as pallbearers. A time of sharing to celebrate Gladys' life and home going will be held 6-9 pm Sunday at Haller's. Mrs. Hamilton was the 12th child born to Rev. Eli and Martealie Montgomery Ramey on November 20, 1920. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters, five of whom died before she was born. She would have been married 68 years, September 23, 2007 to Mr. Charles Hamilton, who passed away July 23, 2007. Gladys graduated from Southeastern High School in 1937, was a homemaker and volunteer. She joined Chillicothe Baptist Church in 1956 where she was a Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Children's Missions teacher. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Union and taught a weekly Bible study at Heartland of Chillicothe for many years. The Scioto Valley Baptist Association 1989 Annual Minutes were lovingly dedicated to Mrs. Hamilton. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marta Sue Hamilton. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis (Tom) Little, of Claremont, NC and Teresa (Bill) Hudson, of Delaware, OH; two granddaughters, Natalie Hudson, of Delaware, OH and Mrs. Lisa Hefner, Taylorsville, NC; a grandson, Drs. Thomas (Catherine) Little, of Greensboro, NC; a step-granddaughter, Heather (Jason) Gehron; great-granddaughters, Camillo Hefner, Alexa Hefner, Virginia Little and Rebecca Little; five step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude Jenkins; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank special friend and caregiver, Marion Malott; the staff of Westmoreland Place, and those who visited her so faithfully.
