Ginger-Lyn Summer

Ginger-lyn Summer, poet, astrologer, psychic, and lover of cats, crossed over to The Summerlands on October 27, 2020 at 12:47 p.m., at Valley View Care Center, Frankfort Ohio. She was born July 13, 1955 in Columbus Ohio to Warren Leroy Hinshaw and Ruth Ramey Hinshaw of Bainbridge, Ohio, and was adopted by Maurice Eugene Kerr and Kathryn Duke Tritsch Kerr of Chillicothe, Ohio. All four of her parents predeceased her. Her adopted brother, John Kerr, predeceased her in 2009. She was also predeceased, over the years, by 19 of her beloved felines. She is survived by her ex-husband and special friend, Victor Allen King, best friend Jennifer Dresbach; a biological brother, Richard Allen Hinshaw, Florida; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and eight cats: Shadow, Clarence, Harvey, Sylvia, Skye, Muggles, Cheeto, and Tippy; and a host of other friends.
Ginger-lyn loved poetry, music, astrology and metaphysics, the Internet, gardening, genealogy, and most of all, her cats. Her personal motto was "Common Sense with a Heart". She was a licensed astrologer and a licensed minister with the Universal Life Church. She held a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and English Literature from The Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
Following cremation, a celebration of her life will be held in the future, when it is safe to gather. Memorial donations may be made in her name to The Cat Welfare Society in Columbus, Ohio, or to any other animal shelter or rescue of your choice.
