Geraldine Stepp

Geraldine Stepp, 79, Chillicothe, passed away peacefully, November 20, 2013, surrounded by family, following a six month illness. She had been under the kind care of the staff of the 3rd floor at Westmoreland Place. She was born May 19, 1934 to the late Jerry M. and Bertha Keith Smith. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gentry Stepp and four of her five children; Dee Dee and John Skaggs, Ron Stepp, Jeannie Doyle, and Sandy and Sam Gillum; and a former daughter-in-law, Sue Wade. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren and their spouses, Karri and Mark Witte, Ian and Stacey Skaggs, Robbie and Keisha Doyle, Erin Doyle, Joey and Cory Gillum, and Samantha and Jonathan Baxter; her great-grandchildren, Koah Skaggs, Isabella Witte, Elliott, William, Grayson, and Reuben Doyle, Layne and Leah Baxter and Carli McAllister; a brother Don Smith and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Almo, Hoke, Herbert and Vivian Smith, Ruby Stepp and Imogene Carpenter; a son, Scott Stepp; and a grandson, Zach Stepp. Mrs. Stepp was a homemaker and attended New Hope Baptist Church, when her health permitted. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at the HALLER FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Friday at Haller's.
