Gerald E. Huffman, 94, of Chillicothe, died at 12:15am January 6, 2016, at Traditions of Chillicothe following a brief illness. He was born September 5, 1921, in Chillicothe to the late Daniel B. and Carrie Speakman Huffman. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Esther Ruth (Wescott) Huffman and his son, Keith Huffman. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Tricia (Stewart) Skinner; Cathye (Mark) Smith, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren Troy (Belinda) Huffman, Dan Huffman, Carrie (Ron) Jarrett, Kara Smith, Vicki (Justin) Cacciatore; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and his aunt Marceil Pittinger. Gerald was a graduate of Chillicothe High School. He then served his country in the US Army Air Corp during WWII and was honorably discharged. He retired from the Mead Paper Corp. where he worked as a welder and was a member of the Local 731. He was a proud member of the "east-enders" and when he was able, enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles, even riding at age 87. Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday at the Haller Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor John Burris officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 until 11 Friday at Haller's.
