Gerald Bair

Gerald L. "Jerry" Bair, 78, of Chillicothe, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born December 6, 1934, in Ross County to the late William and Willetta (Stein) Bair. He is survived by his daughters Cynthia Bair, of Chillicothe; and Peggy Bair, of California; grandson Jesse (Andrea) Snyder; great-grandchildren Olivia, Madelyn and William Snyder, all of Chillicothe; a sister Mary Ellen Graves, Chillicothe; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jacky (Roger) O'Dell; Jerry (Betty) Hurst; and Becky (Bill) Purpero. He was predeceased by his brothers George, Richard "Dick," and Charles Bair; and an infant sister Lois Bair. Jerry was a graduate of Catholic Central high School, Class of 1954. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran and retired from DuPont Chemical as a supervisor following 34 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Men's Auxiliary; American Legion, Post 62; the AMVETS, Post 4; and the B.P.O.E., Lodge 52. He enjoyed fishing, vacationing in Myrtle Beach and photography. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will be held at 9:30am Saturday, November 16, in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7pm Friday at Haller Funeral Home.
