Georgia Sowers

Georgia R. Sowers, 77, of Chillicothe, died at 4:35pm August 21, 2012, at Greenfield Area Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born December 20, 1934, in Hulette, KY, to the late Delbert and Maggie (Hutchinson) Mosley. On May 12, 1956, she married Carl Ernest Sowers, who preceded her in death August 25, 2006. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law Richard (Debbie) Congrove, Chillicothe; Ernest E. (Darlett) Sowers, Nashville, TN; Timothy W. (Lin) Sowers, Chillicothe; daughters and son-in-law Cynthia D. (John) Finley, Chillicothe; and Melody A. Chinn, South Point, OH; grandchildren: Shane, Tyler, Caleb Congrove; Esther (Kyle) Cancasci; Seth (Roxi) Sowers, Josh Sowers; Shannon (Bob) Fletcher; Regan Sowers (Joe Shaffer); Cheyenne Sowers; Amy (Jeremy) Skaggs, Jodi (Shawn) Dillie; Andy Finley; Nathan (Rosie) Pettit; Justin (Teresa) Pettit; Brandon Chinn; step-grandchildren: Brad Hice and Kami Miller; and fiancée of deceased granddaughter Kristin, Nick Opalecky; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Donald (Debby) Mosley; David (Maxine) Mosley; sister Kathryn (Dick) Riffle; sisters-in-law Edna McNichols; Dottie Mosley; Lorraine Sowers; Elizabeth Sowers; Shirley Sowers; Gladys Fellenstein; Anna Belle (Chuck) Gearhart; Ada Jo (Charlie) Houser; Laura Dumm and Mary Lou Barrett. She was predeceased by her son-in-law David Chinn; granddaughter Kristin Sowers; twin brothers Delbert Mosley, Jr. and Elbert Mosley; an infant sister Judy Faye Mosley; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mrs. Sowers had attended Overly Chapel and farmed with her husband, Carl. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, August 26 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Robertson, Pastor Mitch Salyers and Rev. Wendell Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
