George W. Reeser, 78, passed from this life on August 19, 2024 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center. He was born April 1, 1946 in Circleville, OH, son of the late Howard W. and Wilma J. Reeser. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Howard (June) Reeser.
George graduated in 1964 from Circleville High School. From his early years, he played baseball, an avid pitcher, which continued through his school years. He also went on to play for the St. Louis Cardinals minor league team until he was called to duty to serve his country in the United States Army from 1965-1967, where he was stationed in Korea.
His passion was baseball and many, many years later he met a young man, Jonathan Teeters, a coach, whom he became very fond of. From then on, George became his No. 1 fan, as he was dubbed. He also loved watching baseball on TV and going to many Chillicothe Paints games. His greatest passion was baseball; but he enjoyed taking his car to shows, mushroom hunting, going to church, spending mornings with his Tim Horton buddies, and was very dedicated to going to the gym. He loved people and never met a stranger; but he was also laid-back and quiet at times. We often teased him about his contagious little giggle.
George retired from DuPont in 2001 with 33 ½ years of dedicated employment. He was a Christian and attended Mt. Tabor C.C. Church in Chillicothe. He absolutely loved his church family and Pastor Rick.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Peggy; his children by a first marriage, Rob (Deanna) Reeser; Kristen (David) England; grandchildren, Tyler, Jenna (Bryson) Anderson, Sydney, Brant and Asher; great-grandchild, Brooks Anderson; brother, Joe (Holly); sister, Mary Ann Hall and Brandy; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated. His cremains will be interred in the private Bauer family cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. There will be no services at this time. Respectfully, a memorial service may be held at a later date. George would wish for you to donate to a charity of your choice; or to the Mt. Tabor C.C. Church, Chillicothe, Ohio. The family would like to thank everyone who sent cards, messages, came to visit, and especially for all the prayers. A sincere thank you also goes out to Pastor Rick Hartley, who stayed with the family throughout George's hospitalization. He was loved by many and he will be missed by all.
