George Poole

George R. Poole, 90, of Chillicothe, died at 5:50pm September 10, 2021, at Heartland of Chillicothe, following a brief illness.   He was born January 25, 1931, in Ross County, OH, to the late Edward and Agnes (Schobelock) Poole.  On November 11, 1951, he married the former Bonnie Lou McNeal, who preceded him in death November 21, 2014.   Surviving are: his daughter Loralei (John) Poole-Hamer; his son Terry Poole; granddaughters Kelli Poole and Kelly Hamer, all of Chillicothe; great-grandchildren: Peyton Conley, Alyssa (Nick) Beasley, Kaden Withrow; great-great-grandchildren: Jaxon and Jace Beasley; a brother Charles (Betty) Poole, of Xenia; a sister-in-law Nancy (John) Cutright, of Circleville; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: John Burdette, Miles Barrows,  Jim Teeters and the Chilpaco Breakfast Club.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his grandson T.J. Poole, great-grandson Brandon Letsche; brothers Harold and Edward "Bud" Poole; and a sister Jean Hertenstein.   George was a graduate of Unioto High School, Class of 1949, where he was named the Player of the Year in basketball.  He retired from Mead/Chilpaco.   Following cremation, graveside services will be held at 11am Tuesday, September 21, in Grandview Cemetery with Pastor Mitch Salyers officiating.  The family requests that those in attendance wear masks and observe social distancing.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Adena Health Foundation-Hospice Program, 9 S.
