George Mosier

July 1, 1953 — November 19, 2024

July 1, 1953 – November 19, 2024

George Edward Mosier, 71, of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away on November 19, 2024, after an extended illness. Known for his humor, kindness, and devotion to family, George was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

George was born on July 1, 1953, in Springfield, Ohio, to William and Charlotte (Parks) Mosier, the youngest of six children. In high school, he loved sports and participated in track and field and basketball. For much of his life, George worked as a machinist in Ohio. After moving across the country to Utah, he continued his career there. George later obtained his bachelor's degree and then shifted his career to work in healthcare until his retirement. After which, he returned to Ohio.

George had a distinct sense of humor and often joked he wanted to live to 100, leaving his family to believe he owes them 29 more years. George was known for his kind, gentle ways, and his willingness to help others. He would always light up a room with his countenance and humor. George had a natural aptitude for using words and ideas in a quick and inventive way to create humor. He was a friend to all who met him. George was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed many callings including Elder's Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, Executive Secretary, and ward clerk, serving in the Ogden, Utah Temple, Columbus Ohio Temple, and being a missionary at the Bishop's Storehouse in Columbus.

George will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Helen, his sister Charlotte, his brother Jim (Patty), and his children: Jennifer (Nick), Justin (Christen), David (Jessica), Crissy (Ken), Charla (Brian), Lizzy (Nathen), and Hannah, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. George was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Charlotte, and his brothers, Ken, Bob, and Doug.

A viewing will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 27th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints: 1918 North Bridge Street, Chillicothe, Ohio, with a memorial service following at 5 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at Rosehill Burial Park, 4781 S Charleston Clifton Rd, Springfield, OH 45502, at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 29th.
