George E. Baker, 83, died unexpectedly Friday, January 16, 2026, at home. He was born April 17, 1942, in Chillicothe to the late Dwight and Lucille (Creachbaum) Baker. On June 21, 1965, he married Judy (Riddle). They were married for 56 years before her passing in 2021.
He is survived by sons Todd Baker, Chillicothe, and Scott (Teresa) Baker, Minford, grandsons Ethan (Cheyanne) Baker, Greenfield and Tyler (Skyla) Baker, Waverly; great-grandchildren Bennett, Elizabeth and Finnley; his sister Wanda (Kenny) Blevins and sister-in-law Joyce Rahe, both of Chillicothe. Uncle George is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dear to his heart was his honorary granddaughter Kelsey and her children, Aria, Easton, Hunter and Colton.
George was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Tim Hughes and brother-in-law Don Rahe.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was a lifelong camper and a member of the First Capital Campers. He lived his whole life in Chillicothe and graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1960. George retired from the Chillicothe Water Department after 31 years of service. He attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1:00pm at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 am to time of service.
