Genive Vickers

Genive M. Vickers, 75, of Chillicothe, died at 6:50pm Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born April 13, 1938, in Glenwood, WV, to the late Carl E., Sr. and Aline M. (Shull) Rayburn. On June 19, 1972, she married Thamer B. Vickers, who preceded her in death April 3, 1997. Surviving are her children: Brenda (Kenneth) Self; Ron (Tamira) Chapman; David (Gina) Chapman, all of Chillicothe; Joe (Diane) Vickers, of Marion; Melissa (Chris) Lykins, Chillicothe; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters Emma (Don) Marshall; Wanda Thompson; Dorothy Abbott; Glenna (Charles) Dean; a brother Carl E. Rayburn, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons Donald Chapman and Eddie Vickers; and a brother Dewey Rayburn. Genive was an active member of New Beginnings Outreach IPCC. She retired from AVI Food Systems, which operates the cafeteria at Kenworth. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, May 18, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Lou Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Huntington Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
