Geneva Goble

Geneva June (Legg) Goble, 80, of Hillsboro, formerly of Chillicothe, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away in her home at 12:43am Wednesday, May 2, 2012, following an extended illness. She was born June 27, 1931, in Pike County, OH, to the late Alfred David and Myrtle Alice (Anderson) Legg. On June 1, 1948, she married Ernest Goble, who preceded her in death May 27, 2008. Surviving are her children: David Goble, of Alexandria, VA; Myrna (Ervin) Reno, of Hillsboro; Patricia (Bruce) Hall, of Columbus; Melissa (Thomas) McKelvey, of Beaver Creek, OH; Twana Goble, of Hillsboro; Twila Goble, of Chillicothe; 8 grandchildren: Cara (David) Heist; Kurt Goble; Amanda (Kevin) Brown; Corbin (Tina) Reno; Chris (Becky) Fyffe; Megan (Nathan) Dana; Carly and Sara Arrowood; 5 great-grandchildren: Alexandra and Benjamin Heist; Garrett and Anderson Reno; Shelby Fyffe; sisters Almeda Ealey, of Chillicothe; and Virginia Silcott, of Piketon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law Barbara Goble; and by brothers and sisters: James Noah Legg, Gertie Eileen Legg, Mrs. Opal Greene, Mrs. Edith Matthews, Rev. A. C. (Jack) Legg, Mrs. Florence Dixon, Mrs. Orla Flowers, Mrs Dora Creech, Roy E. Legg, Mrs. Marguerite Cooper, Mrs. Dorothy (Bob) Creech, Paul Legg. Mrs. Goble retired from National Church Residences as an apartment manager. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Adena Hospice for their exceptional care and support. Friends may call Saturday May 5 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Haller Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM. Private burial will be held at Mound Cemetery, Piketon, at the convenience of the family.
