Garry W. Rucker, 76, of Chillicothe, our husband, father, brother and friend has gone to be with his Lord and Savior, whom he loved and served. He left this life November 17, 2017, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. He was born October 3, 1941 in Ross Co. to the late Perry and Iva Barker Rucker. On January 1, 1960, he married Martha E. Hardin, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Jean (Alan) Steel, of Chillicothe and Terri (John) Rinehart, of Laurelville; a son, Wayne (Tonya) Rucker, of Chillicothe; five grandchildren, Maurice (Stephanie) Weaver, Megan Howard, Samuel Stratton, Garry Wayne II and Zechariah Rucker; three great-grandchildren, Reese, Lexie and Titus; a sister, Millie Hasting, of Piketon; two brothers, Jerry (Arizona) Rucker, of Chillicothe and Barry Rucker, of Columbus; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Rucker spent his life serving his God and God's people. He was a devoted and very active lifelong member of Mt. Tabor Church. He volunteered and served on the board of directors of Mt. Hope Bible Camp. Garry retired from Chilpaco as an industrial mechanic in 2002 and loved farming and working on his tractors. However, what he cherished most was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Garry's father, son, and all of his grandchildren served in the US Armed Forces. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at Mt. Tabor Church, Rev. Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call 4-7 pm Monday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory or one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
