Garrett Duncan

Garrett H. Duncan, Jr., 93, died at 11:30pm May 25, 2016, at Westmoreland Place. He was born December 19, 1922, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Garrett H., Sr. and Catherine Duncan. On August 3, 1957, he married the former Christina Austin, who survives. Also surviving are his children: Bruce (Paula) Duncan, of Calif., Michelle (Marvin) Ivory, of Phoenix, AZ, Gregory (Bonita) Duncan, Denise Duncan, Christy (Randy) Beverly, Randy V. Austin, all of Chillicothe, Renee Meeks, of Columbus, and Jason Duncan, of Chillicothe; 15 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. Mr. Duncan worked at the former Federal Penitentiary in Chillicothe for 15 years and then retired from JCPenney where he worked as a maintenance supervisor. He was a graduate of Cleveland East Tech High School and served his country in the US Army during WWII. He enjoyed trains and loved playing cards, especially "Bid Wiz." Friends may call Tuesday, May 31, from 12-2pm at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Military graveside services will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with Dr. Rev. J. Troy Gray and Rev. Brent Rolsten officiating.
