Gail Charney

Gail Annette Charney, age 57 passed from this life on July 3, 2017. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Gail was born in Chillicothe, OH to Joanne and Edward Charney.   Gail is survived by her daughter, Leighanne (Aaron) Johnson; granddaughters and lights of her life, Caroline, Amelia and Harper Johnson; her mother, Joanne Charney, all of Chillicothe; sisters, Lisa Charney of Gainesville, FL. and Karen Charney Carr of Gulf Breeze, FL.; brothers, Steve (Mary) Charney of Chillicothe and Mike (Marilyn) Charney of Cincinnati; and several nieces and nephews. Gail was preceded in death by her father, Edward Charney, her grandparents and a nephew, James.   Gail was a graduate of Bishop Flaget High School, class of 1978, and a life-long member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She attended college locally, at Ohio University-Chillicothe. In her younger days she worked for Kerr Wholesale and the Chillicothe Telephone Company and has held several jobs since. More recently, she enjoyed painting and crafts for her granddaughters and reading a good book.   Gail loved her granddaughters more than life itself. She also loved candy, reading, Pepsi and was a true and caring friend. Gail would ask that in her memory, you spend time with your family, take a walk on the beach, read a good book, and always have candy in your pocket.   Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday, July 12, at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Margaret Cemetery.
